City Government

The City of Tahlequah City Council is the legislative and quasi-judicial of city government. Under the provisions of the City Charter, the Legislative Branch of the city government consists of a City Council composed of four councilors and the mayor. The council shall exercise such legislative powers as may be authorized by and not inconsistent with the general laws of the State of Oklahoma, and shall set up such judicial authority as it may find necessary to enforce the ordinances of the City of Tahlequah. 

The council shall have the executive authority over all affairs of the city, except those specifically delegated to the Utility Board.
