The City of Tahlequah is pleased to announce an upcoming significant street project set to take place this fall on Muskogee Avenue, spanning from 4th Street to the Bypass. The bid opening for this project is scheduled for October 6th, with construction expected to commence in the fall of 2023.
As part of this project, Muskogee Avenue will undergo a substantial transformation, with the widening of the road to accommodate five lanes. This expansion will include the addition of a middle turn lane and the construction of sidewalks on the West side of Muskogee Avenue. These enhancements will not only improve the overall functionality of the road but also enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility.
It is important to note that this project is made possible through the funding provided by the 2013 Bond. With the assistance of the TPWA, waterlines will need to be relocated to facilitate this street project.
We understand that this undertaking will have an impact on the entire community of Tahlequah. However, it is crucial to bear in mind that our city is experiencing remarkable growth and prosperity. The completion of this project will mark a significant milestone in the ongoing development of Tahlequah. We are committed to keeping you informed and engaged throughout the duration of this project, and we will continue to provide regular updates as it progresses.
