Director of Planning and Development

 The City of Tahlequah (approx. pop. 16,500) is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of Director of Planning and Development. This position requires the application of specialized knowledge, technical, and administrative skills that contribute to the formulation, implementation and updating of comprehensive and subsidiary plans for the City’s physical development, acquiring financial resources needed for such purposes, assisting with strategic and administrative functions related to planning, zoning and code enforcement and must clearly communicate complex ideas and information both orally and in writing. The position will serve under the general direction of the Mayor, will routinely coordinate project activities with the Assistant City Administrator, and must work effectively with City elected official, staff, boards, outside agencies and the general public.
